Shop of the Week: Esprit
On Tuesday night, swarms of friends, fans, press (and Macy Gray) fêted the new Esprit flagship in Herald Square. As their largest store in North America and second largest worldwide, Esprit is looking to rally since its '80s heyday. The brand is offering far more than the signature logo sweatshirts we wore rollerskating then, too. Here you'll find 18,000 square feet of men's and women's classic casual and affordable collection separates. It's a one-stop-shop for easy wardrobe staples and key workwear pieces.
Floors one and two are dedicated to women's knits, tees, dresses, skirts, shirts, and accessories. Big winners include Esprit's au courant denim-on-denim look and versatile trenches from both their casual and collection lines. The store also stocks edc, the company's trendy clothes with a dash of teen angst (think a jersey tunic with studding). And on the lower level, there's an ample selection of menswear – from suits, ties and basic tees to knit cardigans that all the hotties wear.
The opening celebration included a Macy Gray performance, photobooth shenanigans and cocktails galore, but Espirt is keeping the party going all week long. In honor of the new location, try on any item there today and tomorrow and you'll receive a $20 cash card. Or donate a piece of your clothing for the Salvation Army and get an Espirt outfit for free! Whether you're on the prowl for stripey summer duds, checking the new store's glossy design, or just lookin' for freebies, the Esprit flagship on 34th is worth stopping by.
